Just Like Daddy
Ethan_121507

So Deb and I are Christmas shopping at the bookstore. It's packed. We've got Ethan her itchy-footed toddler with us, and I'm playing zookeeper while Deb fervently seeks out appropriate gifts in the space of 3 minute increments, between demands for presents and shouts of "LOOK AT ME, MOMMY!"

I'd be laughing if I didn't see my future staring me in the face.

Ethan is dragging a comic book with him all over the store. As we head into the madness at the checkout counter, Deb sees the signs of toddler pee pee time. "Let's go to the bathroom," she says, handing me the money to check out, "Put the comic book away so we can go potty."

"NOOO!" says Ethan. "NO! NO! NO!"

"Ethan," Deb says forcefully, "put down the comic book. We need to go potty." Everyone is watching the scene.

"NO MAMA!" shouts Ethan, "I TAKE IT TO THE POTTY WIF ME JUST LIKE DADDY!"
