La Jolla Windstorm
2006_Dec27_LaJollaStormSur.jpg

Today's big winds made for an especially thrilling family trip to The Birch Aquarium.

Eucalyptus leaves and branches were sailing through the air, heavy doors slammed shut with bone-jarring KA-THUNK!s, tumbleweeds were all over the roads, and most spectacularly, there was huge, frothy storm surge all along the coast.

Proof in point: This was shot by The Varmint, looking south toward La Jolla Shores from the Aquarium using our new 105mm macro lens.

Notice the palm trees tilting east? Sweet.
