Snapshot - Torrey Pines

One of the greatest reasons I'll never move out of San Diego is Torrey Pines State Park.

Yesterday was a brisk and breezy Sunday morning. Jen and I drove 10 minutes, parked our car and spent the next hour hiking this trail with scant reminders of a city in hyperdrive, bustling to the east. We went to see whales - and only saw bunches of dolphins playing in the surf and a red-tailed hawk diving for a ground squirrel instead. (Poor us.)hawkdive.jpg

We talked about life, about our futures, laughed, got busted by the docent for eating a minneola ("Hide the peels in the backpack, Jen! Oops. Too late."), and followed it all up with a healthy brunch at Ki's Restaurant.

It was the quintessential San Diego Sunday morning - and it was a blast. Man, I love this town.
